Fall Webelo-ree 2010 at Camp Babcock-Hovey
September 24-26, 2010
20 Webelos from pack 167 enjoyed Webeloree 2010 October 9th and 10th. The weather was perfect and allowed the boys to have fun with the planned activities. On Saturday, the boys got to learn about Boy Scouts, build Water Rockets and shoot BB guns. We had a great lunch of Hot Dogs, Cheeseburgers and Chicken sandwiches with Chili, chips, fruit and pop.
Saturday night, the scouts had either Taco’s in a bag or campfire pizza, finished off with S’ Mores and Apple cake cooked that day over MR. Bogel’s campfire.
Saturday night was a real treat with the coldest camping many of us have experienced. We all stayed tucked into our sleeping bags as the outside temperature dropped down to 36 degrees. Sunday morning dawned bright and chilly, but after Eggs in a bag or egg sandwiches, the boys were ready for Archery, Green energy and closing ceremony.
Not surprisingly, our boys did us proud, bringing home awards for overall Pack Attendance, "Be Prepared", and "Leave No Trace" sessions. It was a great time for all and word is, next year will be expanded to 2 nights.
